Sandy Paws

Yesterday the boys and I went to Dash Point State Park and played in the sand/water for a while. I took a few pictures to remember the event. Any blurriness is caused by moving dog.

Tobby's DNA

Due to the underwhelming response of guesses about Tobby's breed(s), I will not post the results.

I'm an Auntie!

Earlier this week my sister in law announced that I would be an auntie! I met my nieces last night and hung out with them again today.

The black one is Lily and the brown/black one is Roxy. They each weigh about 3 lbs and are dachshund/terrier/Pomeranian mixes. Aren't they so cute?!?!?

Apply Now

Last month I restarted (very) actively looking for jobs. I had my friend look at my cover letter and resume and give me a few ideas on how to improve. I updated my profile on Career Builder and have applied for a few jobs using Career Builder and some more using craigslist. Unfortunately, I am having difficulties finding positions that fit my skill level/physical abilities (like no heaving lifting or standing for periods of time...thank you broken foot!) that are a reasonable commute away.

Tonight I found a job on Career Builder that I was going to apply for. I clicked the "apply now" link and it took me to the PLU website to fill out their application. 45 minutes later I had 3 mouse clicks left before I could submit the whole thing and the website completely crashed!

Yeah, I'll let that sink in.

So, I went back to Career Builder to see if there was anything else and I found a job that again took me to an outside application and I spent 30 minutes filling that one out. Why can't there be 1 application format with supplemental questions?!?!

As I was writing this post, I went back to the PLU website to get the technical message I got, but the website was working! So I finally submitted my application, yay!

Maybe I should title my resume on Career Builder "Willing to Get Carpal Tunnel For Right Employer"...I'm so funny.

Dog Breeds for 800

Since February of 1996 multiple people (including our family) have been perplexed as to the breed of Tobby. So in April I spent $70 on a "Canine DNA" kit. I found out Thursday that my results were in the mail and I should expect them shortly. My challenge to you, is guess what breed(s) you think Tobby is and I will announce her results when I get them.

Here is Tobby:

*Note: The first picture is me with Tobby on my 16th birthday. I was unable to edit mom's legs out of the second picture due to the inability for the computer I am on to open any program in under 8 minutes. Also, Tobby is a girl, she was named when we got her and never changed it.

Eddie Got Sick

Who's Eddie? This is Eddie.

So Friday afternoon Jeremy and I were driving up to Seattle to drop off a part to a repair shop then to the Key Arena to see Dane Cook. While on I-5 my car made a clunk sound then didn't want to "go." It would rev up to like 4000 rpm before it would change gears. We ended up having the car towed to Auburn from Seattle (not cheap). Needless to say I was very frustrated/worried because my paycheck doesn't leave much money to spend after all of my bills are paid.

I was getting ready to do a slide show about Eddie, but dad called a few hours ago and it's only the vacuum modulator and vacuum hoses (whatever that means). Translation, the car isn't going to cost thousands of dollars to fix and it CAN be fixed. Happy days!

*The picture was taken in September 2003 the weekend after I bought him. Dad and I spent all day cleaning and waxing the car so it was almost like new.

Fun Pix!

It has occurred to me that I have had rather depressing blog posts lately. I have been meaning to post some pictures, but haven't gotten around to it. Here are some random happy pictures (with captions!)

Jeremy & I at Mariner's Turn Back the Clock night.

Sill Wally. He had to stick his head out the window even though it was raining. He got a biscuit from the lady at the bank and held onto it to be polite. He didn't eat it.

Wally's first time in a pool. He doesn't like water.
Grandpa walking Hershey back from the mailbox. This does happen daily.

Snidely Whiplash...I mean, Jeremy.

Minus 15 Cool Points

As a few of you know I dislike facebook and also twitter. Facebook isn't nearly as bad as twiter in my opinion, but still very annoying. My problem with twitter is that it is a way for people to tell people what is going on in their lives every single minute.

"I just woke up"
"I have to go to the store, cook dinner and be home in time for American Idol"
"My dog just licked its butt"
"There is a fly in my house and I don't know where the swatter is"
etc

I DON'T CARE! That is just creepy stalkerish. Facebook allows you to do the same type of thing, but people don't post their daily activities every 3 minutes.

Jeremy just called to tell me that my Ryan Rowland-Smith is using twitter. He just lost 15 cool points.
