Cuisinart Griddler

$129.00

The Christmas before last I received the Griddler from my mom. It wasn't until a few days ago that I actually took it out of the package to use it, though I had thought about using it many times before.

The Cuisinart Griddler is a "table top" grilling system. It can be used as an open grill, open griddle, closed grill (good for panini making) or a closed griddle. The cooking plates are remove able and dishwasher safe. The front dials can be set for using the grill plate or the griddle plate and temperatures for each. It has a floating hinge which allows for even cooking when the lid is down. There is a hinge release button which allows the griddler to lay flat, doubling the cooking surface.

Pros: Multifunction gadget, cooks from top and bottom at same time (if you want it to), dishwasher safe plates, has a place for grease to run-off (not in your food), opens flat, heats up fairly quickly and has a floating hinge which is perfect for grilling a sandwich or burgers.

Cons: Stainless steel (collects finger prints), fairly large if you are space limited, both sides of the grill/griddle heat up whether or not you use both sides and takes a while to cool down.

Like any gadget, how expensive it is depends on how much you are going to use it. If you only plan to use it a few times a year, a less expensive item would make more sense. If you use it multiple times a week, for multiple applications, it will quickly pay for itself.

I highly recommend this item.
